It’s been quite the journey for the Lexus SUV lineup. Not only has each one been revamped or fully redesigned, but each has a specific purpose and customer in mind, but is still the epitome of modern luxury and elegance. From small but sophisticated crossovers perfect for the city or large, rugged SUVs for off-road adventures, each SUV in the Lexus family has its own character and appeal.
Lexus doesn’t give its models a full makeover very often. In fact, some of these models have gone decades or longer without major changes to interior design, tech components and more. So these redesigns are intended to keep them feeling fresh and updated for years to come—justifying the investment in them.
However, figuring out which model best fits your needs and lifestyle can be a challenge. So, we did the legwork for you. Here’s the entire lineup, with highlights and the strong suits of each to make your shopping just a bit easier.

2025 Lexus UX Starting At $37,490
This is Lexus’ answer to entry-level, low-cost luxury designed for city driver. The 2025 Lexus UX subcompact SUV comes as a hybrid only, with a 4-cylinder 196 HP engine. The nimble UX retains excellent efficiency with 45 mpg city and 41 mpg highway. Unfortunately, it’s not as sporty or powerful as some of the larger Lexus SUVs, but it does carry the redesigned interior look of the rest of the lineup, has leatherette seating standard, good cargo space and comes in a sporty F Sport trim, too.

While the UX doesn’t have as many luxury features as the larger, more expensive SUVs in the Lexus lineup, it still has all the new technology features, and is loaded with charm in its compact design. The interior features a wireless phone charging pad, a premium sound system, and touch screen multimedia system.

2025 Lexus NX Starting At $41,765
The NX might be the sweet spot in the Lexus lineup: more interior space, horsepower and driving range than the UX, the 2025 Lexus NX is a great option for drivers who want all the luxury but not a huge SUV. Also a subcompact SUV, the NX is surprisingly spacious and offers more room for people and cargo to fit comfortably. The interior is modern and beautifully designed, with similar luxury tech upgrades as the UX. This car is perfect for leisurely urban and suburban drivers.
2025 Lexus NX Interior
The best part is the vast number of trims and upgrades to choose from. Mid-range models include quilted leather upholstery, a 14.0” multimedia display, upgraded ambient lighting and so many more tech features to pamper and assist you along the drive.
You can even choose between two traditional gas engines, a hybrid, or a plug-in hybrid. However, the hybrid options put the NX in an entirely different price range—topping out at $63,380. The PHEV gets 304 HP and 550 miles of driving range, but the regular hybrid gets the best fuel economy with 41 city/37 highway.
2024 Lexus RX, the Original Lexus SUV, Starting At $49,950
The Lexus RX is the OG: Introduced 1998, it was the first luxury crossover to hit the road and one of the very first luxury cars that wasn’t a sedan. It broke the mold for SUVs — and records; it sold to families and luxury buyers everywhere. Fast forward 26 years and it still leads. In its recent redesign, the Lexus RX brings more charm with a refined exterior look, a still sporty silhouette and inside, incredibly advanced technology. And, there are numerous trim levels to choose from, including a hybrid and plug-in hybrid model, which is the top of the line. For small families who haul groceries and sports gear but also need comfortable seating and conveniences at hand, the RX provides an incredible 29.6 cubic feet of storage.
The standard 4-cylinder 275 HP engine gets 22 mpg city and 29 mpg highway, and the hybrid generates 246 HP and gets 36 MPG. The plug-in hybrid generates 304 HP, has a range of 37 miles of electric-only driving and gets about 30 MPG from the gas-powered hybrid engine.

The interior has been completely redesigned and features ambient lighting, textured fabric on the upper door panels and open-pore wood trim. The 14″ multimedia display is thoughtfully angled toward the driver and comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Probably the best feature is the head up display with touch-sensitive pads on the steering wheel. Just swipe your finger across the pads and you’ll see functions light up on the windshield. It’s the best of any on the market.
2024 Lexus TX Starting At $55,050
The Lexus TX, which made its debut late last year, was built with families in mind. This mid-size SUV has a third row spacious enough even for adults and still has 20.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the 3rd row. It seats up to 6 passengers with second row captain’s chairs or 7 passengers with bench seating. It has a slightly modified front grille that hints at the Lexus Spindle Grille, but is a bit less pronounced.
The TX rides comfortably and quietly, and like the RX, offers multiple options: Gas, hybrid or plug-in hybrid electric.

2024 Lexus TX Interior
This might be one of the most comfortable and yet elegant interiors of any family car. It has leatherette or leather upholstery, elegant design and lots of places to put things. There are plenty of USB ports, cup holders and air vents so everyone is comfortable. The passthrough between teh center seats allows access to the 3rd row, or slide and tilt center row seats (which can move even with a child car seat installed) for 3rd row access. And of course, it has all the Lexus top technology, from the 14″ multimedia system with “Hey Lexus” voice activation, a 12.3” reconfigurable driver display and wireless smartphone charging pad —all standard.
2024 Lexus GX Starting At $64,250
We’ve been waiting for this redesign for a while. Years, in fact. The 2024 Lexus GX finally gave us an updated look and feel but kept its rugged sensibilities, and added multiple trims, so you can choose between high luxury or off-road readiness. Buyers can choose from Premium, Luxury or Overtrail, and opt for the “+” package, too, offering all the amenities we expect in a Lexus. Every GX comes standard with a 349 HP twin-turbo V-6 engine and can tow up to 9,000 lbs. For true off-roaders, the Overtrail edition is the way to go; it’s outfitted with special extras for the trail.

2024 Lexus GX Interior
The Luxury trim adds a third row suited for small children, as well as power-adjustable, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats. Even though this is a large SUV, the third row isn’t really fit for adults or long drives, and it’s only accessible via the fold and flip center row seats; if you want slide-and-tilt access, the TX is the way to go.
For off-roaders, though the Overtrail trim adds faux-suede dark green accents, 33” all-terrain tires, an aluminum skid plate, adaptive suspension system and so much more for your off-roading needs.
2024 Lexus LX Starting At $93,915
Large and luxurious, the 2024 Lexus LX pampers you with quilted leather, a leather-wrapped dash, wood trim and all the classic Lexus technology you could need. This full-size SUV is both comfortable and commanding with a twin-turbo V-6 engine that generates 409 HP.
Built on the same platform as the Toyota Tundra, the underpinnings of this SUV give it capability for nearly any off-roading trail, towing and more. But the real intention here is to deliver the top luxury for all passengers.
2024 Lexus LX Interior
The interior features a 12.3” multimedia display, 8” driver display and yet another screen for climate and vehicle controls. A 3rd row, accessible via flip-and-fold center seats, allows seating for 7. A center row bench is the only option; there are not captains chairs in the 3-row configurations.
The top of the line Ultra-Luxury trim is really ideally suited for buyers who want to pamper their passengers, or will be chauffeured. There is no 3rd row but there is a rear-seat entertainment system with Bluetooth headphones. While the LX is a great car for families, it may not be ideal for those with children in car seats.
The key thing to remember is that Lexus really thought about the buyers for each of its SUVs: The city driver, the luxury SUV fan, the family who needs space and buyers who really need off-road and towing capability but also want luxury. And, who want the capability and reliability of Lexus vehicles for the decade to come.
